A little about my background -
I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Charleston Southern University in 2005. Since then, I have worked as an Applied Behavioral Therapist, an administrative assistant, Assistant Director/Coordinator for a department in a religious organization, a hair salon office manager, a marketing and PR representative, a dance teacher’s assistant….and now own my own business! Life is full of surprises!
My own health struggles -
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS, an endocrine disorder)
Metabolic X syndrome (high risk cardiac factors)
Hypothyroidism
Depression and anxiety disorders
So, I know sometimes our genetics, our hormones and our brains constantly work against us in our battle to reach our health goals!
My discovery of ballroom dance and fitness in 2018 led me to losing a total of 60 pounds and a new-found appreciation for exercise and nutrition, as well as how dance/exercise/fitness impacted not only my physical health but my mental and emotional well-being. Movement is great for all areas of the body!!! And then people kept asking me, “How did you do it?”

2020 Nutrition and Wellness Consultant certification through the American Fitness Professionals and Associates (AFPA)
2021 Group Fitness Instructor certification with AFPA
2021 Injury Prevention Certification through the Athletics and Fitness Certification of America (AFAA)
2022 Flexibility Training through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)

In 2021, I started Becoming U as a way to help people navigate their own journeys to a healthier lifestyle. I don’t believe in fast or fad diets - they may help jumpstart weight loss or gain, but they are often not sustainable long term. My approach is to help people develop lifestyle habits that will carry them through their lives feeling great!
No one’s health journey is the same, and I am here to help you find yours!
